Cost/Your Benefits Stipend The School District allows you to tailor your benefits by providing you with a stipend to purchase the coverage options that best meet your needs. The maximum amount of the stipend you receive depends on your employee classification:
*Effective July 1, 2007 When you select your benefits, you are limited to your own benefit stipend. If the benefits you select exceed your annual stipend, you pay the difference through regular payroll deductions. NOTE: Stipend sharing for spouses who are employed in the Brandywine, Christina, Colonial, and Red Clay School Districts was discontinued on September 1, 1998. Full-time employees are eligible for the State share of funding for health coverage (equal to the cost of the Basic plans) after meeting a three-month eligibility period. Refer to employee contract for local medical stipend.
