The State's Flexible Spending Accounts

The Flexible Spending Accounts provide you with a way to pay for your Medical, Dental, Vision Care and State Group Life Insurance Plan premiums, as well as eligible uninsured medical, dental, vision and dependent care expenses with tax-free money. Two Flexible Spending Accounts are available:

• Health Care Spending Account
• Dependent Care Spending Account

By directing "pre-tax" money from your paycheck into one or both of these accounts, you can put up to 41% of the money you are spending on eligible expenses back into your pocket.

• You can use the money in your Health Care Spending Account to reimburse yourself for out-of-pocket medical, dental and vision expenses incurred by you or your eligible dependent(s).
• You can use the money in your Dependent Care Spending Account to reimburse yourself for any eligible day care expenses.

NOTE: According to IRS regulations, Spending Accounts can be used for yourself and your tax-qualified dependents only. If you have questions, please call ASI at 1-800-659-3035. ASI administers the Flexible Spending Accounts.
